Eureka

Graphite and Digital, 40″ x 40″, 2014.

The Great Seal of California showcases the majestic landscape of California, a gold miner digging for treasure in the near distance. Today, the California miners are the homeless men and women sifting through piles of trash collecting valuables and trading them for coins. The word “eureka” literally means, “I found it!” This piece of art imagines the uncanny beauty and emotion the moment riches are struck.
